Kathy has been executive director of PRG since 2009 and is responsible for the organization’s finances, budgeting, fundraising, personnel, and public relations. Her prior experience includes project and program management in the fields of affordable housing and community development.
Kevin manages PRG’s renovation and construction of single-family homes. He has 17 years of experience developing affordable housing in a diverse, urban environment, as well as extensive experience with partnership building and community organizing.
Portia is an experienced HUD certified Homeownership Advisor with strength in homebuyer counseling, foreclosure prevention, homebuyer education and financial wellness. Portia has worked in many facets of housing and has a Master’s of Arts in Human Services Administration. Her background as a 1st generation homebuyer helps her to serve her clients with passion, integrity and dedication.
Paul maintains office systems, tends to PRG’s technology needs, does much of our day-to-day accounting, and handles other administrative tasks. He has extensive experience in office management and accounting, including running his own business and creating systems for several non-profit organizations. He has been with PRG since 2005.
For the past 5 years prior to joining PRG, Luis worked in the financial industry assisting diverse clientele with strength in customer service, lending and underwriting. Along with the financial industry, Luis also has over 10 years of management experience in retail. Luis is excited to join PRG to help the Latino community become homeowners and build generational wealth.
Aubrey is responsible for PRG’s website content, social media activities, publications, media relations, as well as foundation and individual fundraising. With a bachelor’s degree in journalism and strategic communication, as well as experience working with nonprofits and philanthropy he brings skills and relationships to the team to help build PRG’s equitable housing work.
Erin has over 20-years of experience as licensed real estate agent, specializing in the unique needs of first-time and often first-generation buyers. A certified Homebuyer Counselor since 2013, she is considered an expert at identifying and layering multiple funding sources to assist lower-income buyers. She joined our staff in 2001.
Ahmed is an experienced bilingual (Somali & English) Homeownership Advisor with strength in group education and financial literacy that helps lower income families stay on top of their budgets. Since 2015, he has worked with both for profit and nonprofit housing organizations in the Twin Cities helping East African communities assimilate and create wealth in their new home, Minnesota.
Board of Directors
Jane became a homeowner after completing a first-time homebuyer workshop at PRG in 2011. She joined the board in 2012 and has held terms as secretary and Vice President. Jane lives in Minneapolis with her family and works at the State of Minnesota. She has a background in urban planning, facilitation, and analysis.
Luis is the Director for the City of Saint Paul’s Department of Planning and Economic Development. In this role, he supports a team of planners and support staff on long-term planning, neighborhood planning, transportation, zoning, environmental review, and heritage preservation in support of community wealth building. Luis joined the PRG board in 2018.
Eric joined our board in 2018, not long after moving to Minneapolis from Portland, OR. He is a CPA at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA), a large national accounting and consulting firm. There, he specializes in tax and strategic planning for business clients primarily in the real estate and construction industries. He has a passion for assisting in the enhancement of a community’s livability and strives to clear the path towards freedom and opportunity for all of its residents.
Dante is a Technical Support Analyst with Infor by day and a DJ by night. Having grown up on the north side of Minneapolis, he recently returned as a new homeowner of a PRG-developed home. Dante coaches youth basketball during his free time and is committed to making north Minneapolis a place of opportunity for all. He joined the board in 2015.
Akisha is a convener, connector, and resource for community members in North Minneapolis and abroad. With over 20 years in the non-profit world, she has currently found herself at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment with Energy Storage Program Team. With the assistance of PRG’s Financial Advisors, she became a proud homeowner in the Hawthorne neighborhood in North Minneapolis. She hopes to assist other residents into pathways of financial stability and eventually homeownership.
David has served as executive director of local and international nonprofits, including a south Minneapolis community development corporation, and as Deputy Mayor of Minneapolis. He currently provides strategic guidance, coaching, and interim executive leadership for local nonprofits as an independent consultant. He joined the PRG board in 2011.
Caitlin is a staff attorney in the housing unit at Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (“SMRLS”) in St. Paul. At SMRLS, Caitlin represents individuals facing eviction, loss of public assistance, repair issues, and other housing-related concerns. She also works on community development projects with various partners in St. Paul and the Metro Area. Caitlin joined the PRG board in 2016.
Cate is the owner/broker of Express Realty and works primarily with first-time homebuyers. Prior to the formation of her brokerage, she spent many years in the mortgage industry as an operations manager and mortgage underwriter. Cate has been a frequent homebuyer workshop volunteer presenter for PRG and other local nonprofits. She joined the board in 2017.
Mark has over 30 years of experience with PRG and functions as the board historian. His expertise includes finance, personnel, and working with neighborhood organizations. He is retired as the former Director of the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care with the Minnesota Department of Health. Mark has served on the PRG board since 1976.
Corina is an Assistant Section 8 Programs Manager for the St. Paul PHA. She began her interest in housing studying the colonias along the Texas/Mexico border. She has studied and worked in affordable housing in El Paso, Chicago, and the Twin Cities. She lives in Frogtown, where she chairs the neighborhood association’s board of directors. Corina joined the PRG board in 2016.
Professionally, Erich has 25 years of business management and accounting expertise. He was a founding member (and president for five years) of Lyndale Neighborhood Development Corporation and has been a board member (and chair for two years) of Southside Family Charter School. He has served as a PRG board member since 1991.
